Well, I wanted to have some sort of water sprayer
for the MR2's intercooler in hopes of getting the charge temperatures down.
So off to Super Trak I went. Bought a 'universal'
wisndshield washer pump.
Went to Hechingers or Home Depot and bought a
couple nozzels that can srpay various patterns of mist; think they
were about 3 dollars each. Also purchased
some hose to run from the bottle of water to the pump, and from the pump
to the sprayers.
The pump was mounted in the engine compartment
on the pasenger side.
The water bottle was mounted in the trunk.

of the intercooler. Two sprayers were used to spray a mist and cover
the entire outer surface of the intercooler.
The pump will drain a gallon tank in about 6 minutes at the current rate
of flow.
I slowed the pump down using two power resistors
from Radio Shack (think they were both 2 ohms).
A switch was mounted in the cabin, and I was thinking
of making it computer controlled in the futre (via my MR2 project).

Since I'm monitoring before and after intercooler
temps, as well as outside temp, I can calculate real time intercooler efficiency.
So I did some runs on a day where the outside
temp was around 70 degrees, with and without the sprayer turned on.
With cold water in the tank, it seems to improove
intercooler efficiency by 5-10 percent.
I would imagine that with something like alcohol
added to the water the efficiency could be improoved upon.
Was is worth it?
It was pretty easy to do, and cheap...and I'm
allways for adding another switch/button/gauge/display to the cockpit!
